INTRODUCTION
AI was established in 1996 as a multi-discipline design firm encompassing the field of architecture, planning, and interior design. The firm has received recognition for excellence in design and management for a wide variety of projects in Korea and the United States.
AI has designed and completed projects for Korea’s major conglomerates such as Doosan, Samsung, Hanwha, CJ, and GS Holdings. Using design as a strategic tool for change management is a key element of these projects. AI has also completed major golf club and resort projects including Sandpine GC, Lakewood CC, Maple Beach CC, and most notably Pine Beach Golf Links and the Club at Nine Bridges which is ranked in the top 100 clubs in the world. Other significant projects include the renovation of Seoul's landmark N Seoul Tower, Doosan Art Center, Doosan Guest House, corporate headquarters interiors for NC Soft, Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and E-Mart.
AI strives to provide each client an integrated design service including strategic brief and feasibility studies, design and construction supervision, furnishing and decoration, signage/graphics, lighting and landscape. Our interior design and construction supervision team is an integral part of the architecture practice to ensure overall design quality control. Gene Park was born in Korea, spent his childhood in Africa, educated in the United States with further study in France and China, and now praticing architecture and interior design in Seoul, Korea. Gene Park graduated from MIT with a Master of Architecture degree in 1987 and worked for a number of firms in Boston and New York including Kyu Sung Woo, The Architects Collaborative (TAC) and Davis Brody & Associates.
In 1996 Gene Park founded AI Architects in Seoul and has established itself as a leader in project types including Golf Clubhouse and Resort destinations, Corporate Conference Centers, Culture and Entertainment venues, Residential and Housing developments, and Corporate and Commercial buildings. These projects required his role as the master architect and creative art director coordinating an international group of consultants including sign and graphics, lighting and acoustics, landscape, sustainable design, and art work installations.
Gene Park continues to seek new challenges in project design by bringing together his global experience and understanding of trends and cultures to create the most unique and memorable experience for the client and its users.
